Working principle of gear pump
Gear pump is a commonly used hydraulic pump, characterized by simple structure, convenient manufacturing, low price, small volume, light weight, good self suction performance, insensitivity to oil pollution, and reliable operation; Its main disadvantages are large flow and pressure fluctuations, high noise, and non adjustable displacement.
Gear pumps are divided into external and internal meshing types according to their meshing forms.
Working principle of external meshing gear pump
Composed of a pair of identical cylindrical gears, pump body, front and rear pump covers, transmission shaft, seals, etc.
The flow rate and pulsation rate of gear pumps
Flow pulsation can cause pressure pulsation, causing vibration and noise in hydraulic systems. If the pulsation frequency is consistent with the natural frequency of the system, it will also cause resonance, exacerbating vibration and noise. The magnitude of flow pulsation is evaluated by the flow pulsation rate.
